Default Whirlpool GR448LXPS oven slow to heat up

I have a Whirlpool Gold GR448LXPS Electric Range that is 3 years old. For the last 6 months it is very slow to reach desired temperatures. I originally thought it simply wasn't getting hot. I did some test with a thermometer and discovered if I set the oven to 350 it takes 12mins to reach this temperature. Higher temps take longer. I do not see the heating elements glow red. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi,

So when you first turn the oven on and wait a couple minutes, you bake element doesn't get red at all?

12 minutes is about normal to get to 350. Thats exactly how long it takes my Whirlpool range to heat to 350.

The elements no longer turn red at all. Even if I set it self clean the elements do no turn red. The pre-heat cycle shows 4:14mins to heat up. When the oven was new it was hot after those 4:14mins.

Ok, then you'll need to check the voltage on your element terminals with a volt meter, put the volt meter probes on both element terminals while its on and you should get 240 volts. If you do get 240 volts, that means your element is bad.

Wait on this model it shows you have a hidden bake element, are you able to see it clearly from the back once you remove your back access panel?'

Here's the bake element for your model, in case you need to order it:
Manufacturer's Number: 9755770

I pulled the back access panel (after unplugging) and found the the blue/white stripe wire melted the solder joint (blackened) at the connection to the baking element and is no longer connected. Could this have been a bad jont to begin with and resolder, or should I replace the baking element as a precaution? Thank you for the help

Yup, you found the problem, Its best to just order the new bake element then to try to re-solder it.
