Unhappy Quiet IV blowing control fuses

Jake, I am getting very frustrated with my QP IV, Model GU1500XTLS3, I bought it 3 years ago and 4 months ago it stopped in the drain mode I believe (it had an inch of water in the tub). I called the repair folks, they came out and troubleshot it to the panel, they changed that. It wroked for about 3 weeks and did the same thing... The repair man siad it would be 90.00 each time he came out but the parts would be free since it was under warranty... decided to do the work myself. I found the fuse blown on the control board and I noticed what appeared to be one of the caps on the board had a "bulged top"... so I bought the control board. It workd about a week, same problem. I found a local place to get the fuse and the counter guy suggested the active vent could be the problem as he had a customer that sounded similar and he bought a vent and he never came back... well I order the vent on line and changed that... it is in the same state... no power... cna you help me understand what is blowing the fuse on the control board... it can't be the vent, the board, or the panel as they have all been changed?

Thanks, Dave

Hi,

Did you get two new wires in the same parts bag as the new thermo fuse?

If so did you change the wires too.

Often times its a bad connection on one of the spades that plug into the fuse that create heat and make the fuse blow. This is why you get two new wires with the new fuse.

Yes, AJ is correct, the thermal fuse will keep blowing unless you replace the wires that come in the kit.

Here's the cheapest one I found for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8193762

8193762
