Default GU1200XT not getting dishes clean

I have a Quiet Partner GU1200XT that I bought from a neighbor that is not getting the dishes clean. It leaves food and a residue on the dishes.

I checked the spray arms which seem to be fine. The water is getting very hot and the pressure in our house is very good.

Last month I replaced the check valve and the chopper, but this hasn't helped.

What else could be wrong?

Hi,

GU1200XT is just a partial model#, whats the complete model#? The model# tag is located inside the dishwasher on the upper tub walls.

Sounds like you will need a new motor. Whirlpool had a few issues on that model with the motors.

You can order just the motor alone, or the motor/sump assembly which is higher in price, but easier/less steps to install.

Thanks,

Here's the sump/motor assembly for your model:
Part#8535150

Here's the motor alone:
Part#8534942

Here's the repair manual for your model, it explains how to change both:

Thanks Jake. How much harder is installing just the motor? My husband and I are both quite handy.

Its not to much harder, just takes more time and abit more involved, but if you follow the instructions in the repair manual, you should have any problems.

Is there a way I can tell for sure if it is the motor?

Sometimes, check the motor impeller, does it look worn out or beat up? Is the motor impeller stripped from the motor shaft, free turning on its own?

The motor impeller looks fine and it turns freely.

Ok, from my experience on these models, installing a new sump/motor assembly usually fixes the problem 95% of the time.

If you order the sump/motor assembly from the link I posted above and install it and it doesn't fix the problem, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund.
