Default [FIXED] Quiet Partner I: Doesn't drain

Been having some issues with my dishwasher. It's about 2 and a half years old now. Was having issues with it draining. Replaced the drain hose, and it worked fine for a while. Stopped working a few days ago, just got around to replacing the hose for a second time. Still doesn't work. When I pull the drain house off, all of the water leaks out - so I don't think anything is clogged. I also tried vacuuming all of the water out, and running a fresh cycle - still doesn't drain.

The people that I bought the house from installed a laminate wood floor - so I would need to remove the floor or the counter in order to remove the dishwasher.

Is there anything I can try without removing? I can access some of it from the bottom, but it's hard to reach much farther than where the drain hose connects.

The guy at Home Depot told me to try Drano - but that doesn't sound like a very good idea.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

Hi Brian,

Something may jammed in your drain motor impeller, or your drain motor bearing is locked-up.

Page 21 here shows you how to take apart the drain motor:
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/52521bdbd0ef763c85256cbc00520548/$FILE/8178022.pdf

Here's the drain motor for your model in case you need to order it:
Manufacturer's Number: 661662

If your drain motor is fine, then something in your sump is blocking the flow of water out.

Start with first checking the upper part of your sump assembly before pulling it out. Check your chopper screen and black rubber check valve.

From the repair manual link I posted a link to above read Page 17 Read 1-4 where it says this:

SERVICING COMPONENTS INSIDE THE WASH TUB
Removing the Inner Feed Tube and
Lower Spray Arm

Then on Page 21 it starts to get into detail of how to access the rest where it says this:
Accessing Components of the Sump Assembly

It shows how to get access to the chopper screen and check valve.

Ended up being a clog in the disposal. Wasn't allowing any water to get through.

Everything is good now.

Thanks!
