Default Whirlpool SF385PEE gas leaking

Jake,

My 11 year old Whirlpool SF385PEE is leaking gas.
I already confirmed with gas company, and gas has been shut off.
It leaks from the little gap b/w stove top and stove body(right above where the dials are), not from where the flame is.
Since this stove is fairly old, I wanted to ask you if fixing it instead of buying a new one will worth of money. I already asked local repairer, and he is charging $75 for trip and labor, but he could not tell me how much the part is going to be.
What could be a possible cause and how much is the part going to be?

Thanks!

Hi,

Here's the parts diagram of your range:

Which diagram and part location on the diagram is it leaking from?

Ok,

It must be the burner valve#8 or the Ventury pilot assembly#2 from this manifold parts diagram:

It would probably cost about $200 to fix it parts and labor.

Its 12 years old, so I'd recommend just putting the repair money into a new range.

New ranges start at $399 and up.
