Default Check valve and chopper cover?

I'm having problems with my whirlpool model # Gu1200xtkqo and from what I've researched so far I'm going to take some advice I've seen
Jake give about changing out the check valve. I've been following a picture illustration of Jake's and now I'm stuck because I can't figure out how to get the last cover off, its the one above the check valve and the chopper. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks! Just so you know my main problem it is that my washer will not do the wash cycle. I hear it fill with water, then it makes noise like it is trying to wash, then it just sits idle. After being idle i will hit the drain button and it drains fine.

Were you able to get the chopper cover off?

In post#6 here:
KitchenAid fills with water. Wash light blinks. Chopper cover removal help too!
Tells how.

And post#2 here:

Parts are included to order as well if you need them.

Yes I was able to get the cover off following the advice you have previously given. The chopper did spin freely and there was not very much "trash" on the chopper screen, but I have ordered a new chopper and check valve. Will post again after I have installed new parts. Again, thanks for the help!

okay, the new parts have arrived- chopper & check valve. When inspecting my old chopper I don't really see anything wrong with it. The problem I am now having is how do you take the chopper off. Do the couplers just seperate from each other with the use of pliers. Also I'm wondering if I should just leave the old chopper in and just change out the check valve. Any suggestions?

Ok, then its likely you will need a new wash motor or sump/motor assembly.

Here's the cheapest price I found on your wash motor assembly:
Manufacturer's Number: 8534942

8534942

Here's the sump assembly for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8535150

8535150

The sump/motor assembly costs more, but easier to install.

Start reading at Page#20 here:
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/52521bdbd0ef763c85256cbc00520548/$FILE/8178022.pdf

It will show you how to remove the pump and sump assembly, then the wash motor.
