Default [FIXED] Whirlpool Model #SF315PEG Oven/Broiler not working properly

Whirlpool gas range model #SF315PEG........oven does not pre-heat properly.Seems to not get up to temperature......barely gets to 325 when turned to broil for 30 minutes. Stove top works fine . I am thinking ignitor however it does glow orange and it does ignite just not a very strong flame. When I turn on stove top burner this seems to increase gas output to oven for a short time.

Fast help is appreciated as the holidays is looming and my Mother in law is coming to stay

Hi,

When you broil, the oven door can't be closed or it will shut-off your gas to your broil burner, leave the door ajar when you broil.

Now when you bake does it take forever to get up to 325? Also notice how long it takes after the orange glow bar in the bottom of your oven glows before the gas comes out to ignite, should take less than 60 secs.

Default same problem

Thank you for replying.I do understand about the Broil/ Bake functions. When I bake the oven takes forever to get up to temp. Ignitors glows , however no gas is released ,most times 10 minute pre heat time is expired and still no flame. When I use the broil function I can get flame but its not full power like it used to be.
My oven has one burner for oven/ broiler. Do you think replacing ignitor will help fix this problem? If I am understanding correctly a bad ignitor will not allow gas regulator to fully operate thus the low ,inconsistant output.

Yes, you will need a new oven igniter glow bar.

I can look it up for you, but there should be another letter and number after the "G" at the end of your model#. The model# tag is located on the front frame after you pull out the storage drawer.
