I have a nine year old Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 gas oven that has worked intermittently for several years. Often (at least 50% of the time) when I try to use the oven it does nothing-- I don't even hear the sound of the gas, although I don't usually leave it on long enough to smell it. For a while the burners wouldn't ignite either, although that problem seems to have corrected itself. They were getting gas-- I just had to light them with a match.

I had a repairman come yesterday and he replaced the DSI. There was no problem last night, but this morning same thing. I don't trust this guy, and am hoping for some advice about whether or not the DSI sounds like the problem. Thank you.

Whats the model# of your range? Its located on the bottom of your range when you pull out the storage drawer.

Its possibly your gas valve or burner spark assembly.
