Default Ice Maker just quit

I have a WP Model GC5THEXNB00 Side by Side with an "In Door" Icemaker which means the collection container is mounted on the door and the ice maker faces toward the front so it can eject ice into the door container. It was working fine. Had filled the ice container. I emptied the ice into bags so I could have it make more. But it quit making ice and has never done so since. I have turned off the fridge several times and then turned it back on thinking I needed to reset the ice maker. Even unplugged it one time. Nothing has worked. I have a little experience (see Appliance BLOG from OSUCOWBOY from a few months ago) The one thing I noticed that doesn't seem right is that the fingers that push the ice out of the unit when it cycles are facing down into the area where the ice cubes form; not UP which is the normal case in between cycles. I "think" that the fingers were actual frozen in the ice. I turned off the fridge until all of the ice was melted and removed all the water from the ice maker by soaking it up into paper towels. Then turned it on thinking that with no ice there, maybe the fingers would "reset" to their UP position. But still nothing worked. Today I removed the ice maker from the freezer and took off the cover to the module. The number on the control module is S106 2198597. If you take a look at the prior thread, we first thought that I needed a new control module part number W10122536. However, replacing that module did NOT fix the problem and I returned the new module. We ultimately fixed it by installing a completely new ice maker and I still have the old one. Therefore, I still have the control module P/N W10122536 which was on the old one and was working. IS THERE ANY CHANCE THIS CONTROL MODULE CAN BE USED FOR MY CURRENT PROBLEM IF, IN FACT, YOU THINK I NEED A NEW CONTROL MODULE. If you don't, is there a way to "reset" the module so the fingers point up like normal in between ejection cycles? That's it. Need advice

Thanks

Hi,

How long ago did you replace the complete ice maker assembly?

Default got it working

These are two different refridgerators. The one six months ago is the one in our house. The one I"m working on now is a residential fridge in my motorhome. Since sending you the first thread, I took the module off of the old ice maker from the house unit and took the one off of the unit that isn't working. A visual inspection revealed that they are identical. So I just installed the one from the old "house" icemaker onto the Motorhome unit; then re-installed the icemaker into the fridge. Reset the power, turned the unit back on, and it is already making ice.

I assume that this means the control module was failed. Do you agree?

P.S. Any chance you provide this service for television problems?
