Question [FIXED] Whirlpool Quiet partner III Model# GU2400XTPT3 Cleaning light blinking 7 times

Hi to all!, new to this forum! I have a Whirlpool dishwasher Gold Model# GU2400XTPT3 with has the "blinking" cleaning light 'flashing" 7 times. I use the "search" feature fist! and I came a cross with different conclusions, so that's why I started the thread! I replaced the heating element and the thermistor and "no help". The thermal fuse was ohm for continuity and checked ok! All wires are properly connected! If the cancel button is pressed you get a # 2 on the LED display and the motor seams to run? although while I was reading different threads, one member reported that the motor fixed the problem? I just don't want to throw parts and waste money! That's not the proper way to troubleshoot the problem. I just replaced the previous 2 parts that I mentioned earlier under the advice of "experienced" people. Well any ideas or suggestions are more than welcome thanks!! Orlando!

    Hi,

Did you reset the error code?

The reset sequence used was reported to be the following:
    1) Crack the door open.
    2) Within 3 seconds press the following sequence - Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry
    3) Close and latch the door
    4) Press the cancel button (the circle with the triangle in it)

Looks like it's going to work! hold on!! let me re-connect everything back on! BTW its HI TEMP/WASH-HEATED/DRY-HI TEMP/WASH-HEATED/DRY then cancel those are the indications on this particular model! But is the same exact thing as you just told me! I'll let you know if it starts without a problem! thankks Orlando!

washing cycle ended so far so good! looks like problem solved! I guess that the fix was the thermistor? but then I need it to re-set the washer after replacing the defective parts? correct me if I'm wrong? any way thanks it's working again!

The heating element is the No.1 cause of the clean light blinking 7 times. But unless you reset the error code after changing the heating element, it would still display that code.

    Good job Orlando.

Angry Heating Element and High Limit Thermostat Checked OK

I pulled the dishwasher out and isolated the heating element and high limit thermostat. The heating element resisted at 10 ohms, the thermostat resisted at .3 ohms. I understand both of those are within range. I can't test the control module, and it is too expensive to replace at nearly a half to a third of buying new and installing myself. I did reset using your instructions above, and as a last ditch effort, significantly raised the water heater temperature and ran water until hot before starting. Unfortunately, that did not work. I now will have to replace it, not happy.

Ok, one other cause be a clogged chopper screen or flapper check valve in the sump basin, I'd check that first before getting the control board.
