Default [FIXED] Ice Maker not working

My icemaker (that is built into a Whirlpool side by side model number GS6SHEXNB00) quit working. I preformed the Optics Diagnostics Mode Test and it checked OK. I preformed the Component Diagnostic Mode test by putting a jumper wire between test points T and H to force an ice harvest. This test failed. I then put 110 volts on the solenoid valve that feeds the icemaker and water came out to the tray. After the ice froze nothing else happened. I am thinking that the ice maker module is bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Ron

Hi,

Yes, it sounds like your ice maker module is bad. You can order the module itself or the complete ice maker assembly.

If your refrigerator is over 5 years old or you live in an area where you have hard water, I'd recommend getting the complete ice maker assembly.

Here's the ice maker module kit for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8201515

Complete icemaker assembly

Default Icemaker Working

As the refrigerator is coming up on 3 years old I just ordered the module. I ordered it Tuesday morning and received it Wednesday afternoon. Two hours later, it harvested the batch of ice. Thanks again for the help.
