Default Quiet Partner I - strange problems

Greetings.

I have a GU980SCGQ0 that's misbehaving.

Press the button for any cycle, and the fill cycle starts -- then almost immediately, the wash cycle -- then almost immediately, the drain cycle runs completely. I just hit cancel at this point, but my wife tells me that it stops after the drain completes.

I suspected the soil sense circuit, but the diagnostics cycle completes without problems, including interval 9 for 6 minutes (the soil sense interval).

Any guesses? Other than a failed control board?

Thanks in advance!
Darren

Hi Darren,

Here's a thread that explains what it could be, yours uses the same exact pressure switch as I posted in post#3 here:
[FIXED] Quiet Partner II fills & drains and fills and THEN washes

Jake:

Thanks for quick reply.

Disconnected orange wire from pressure switch -- no change.

Decided not to take wife's word for it, and let cycle complete. Regardless of cycle chosen, cycle proceeds immediately to Drain. Then the Clean light comes on. Tried this on Quick Wash, and Normal -- same thing.

Tried Diagnostics a few times more, and noticed that, sometimes, the Quick Wash light doesn't always come on, or flickers on and off, during the initial bulb test.

Also during Diagnostics, if I open the door and close it, the Clean light sometimes lights up until the pump starts, then goes out.

Any ideas? I'm pretty sure that the boss won't want to run through Diagnostics twice to clean the dishes! Then again, it might be a good opportunity to have the kids wash dishes by hand!!!

Cheers
Darren

Ok, Darren

Turn the breaker off to your dishwasher and bypass the pressure switch, meaning take the wires off the pressure switch and tape them together with electrical tape and then turn the breaker back on to your dishwasher and see if that makes it work properly.

Default Still no go.

Jake:

Sorry for the delay in replying to this... been a very hectic 2 weeks.

I shorted out the wires for the pressure sensor -- no change. Cycle immediately goes to drain, and then "Clean" light comes on.

Thanks in advance
Darren

Ok Darren,

Is the clean light blinking?

If the clean light is not blinking and the other button lights are not blinking either, then its likely have a bad control board.

Here is a control board for your model you can order:
Manufacturer part number 8051136 is RepairClinic item number 721924
8051136

Remember there is always a 30 day full refund if the part I have linked here does not fix the problem.
