Default whirlpool super C 465 oven won't light

Model number ysf377pegq oven won't light. Broiler works fine as do burners. Is this an igniter problem? Please help Jake!

BTW, the advice and help regarding my washer (which I replaced the bottom bearing on the transmission) is still holding strong. Thanks!!

Hi,

Glad your washer is still doing good.

Now on your range, there should be another number after the "q" at the end of your model#, thats very important to know because they make 2 different bake igniter's for your model.

the number after the "q" is 0 (zero). When I tested the ignitor connection there was ~120 VAC but the ignitor would only draw 2.2 amps. My understanding is this should be somewhere in the 3.2 to 3.6 range so I'm pretty confident that the ignitor is the culprit.

I found a parts diagram on the whirlpool.ca site (I'm in Canada) and the part number that I ordered is 3186491. I hope that this is the right part! It looks like it. FWIW, the part has Norton 501a written on the connector.

Do you think I'm ok?

Yes, then it would be the oven bake igniter thats bad.

Yes part#3186491 is the correct bake igniter for your model. (Ships to Canada)
