Default Whirlpool oven start and minute buttons do not work?

model #RS610PXGW0
serial #XJ2401011

everything else works, bake/ broil/ timer/ hour..... just the start button and the minute button do not work? say for instance, I press bake, the display says 350 degrees and a word under that flashes "start?" press the start button and nothing, press the stop button and it turns back off. now if I press the timer set then hour up/down works fine, the minute will not work and I cannot start the timer because the start does not work. the minute and start buttons are next to each other on the panel. any ideas?

thank you.
