Default GU1500XTLS1 blinking normal light.

My whirlpool dishwasher (GU1500XTLS1) stopped working. The LED for the normal cycle is now blinking, and the time remaining displays "--". The unit doesn't respond at all. I tried clicking on the Cancel button, but it didn't work. I tried switching off the circuit breaker and turning it back on. It didn't work either.

What could be the likely problem? Is this something DIYer can fix or is it a complicated job requiring a repair tech?

This was bought in 2003. Is it worth repairing or is it time to buy a new unit?

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Kannan

Hi Kannan,

It would be the control panel thats bad.

What color is yours?

Here's the black control panel for your model you can order:
Manufacturer's Number: 8534839

8534839

There are screws inside the door that hold it in place, then it will come out and just disconnect the ribbon cable from the control board and put the new control panel in.

If your model has the control board mounted in the console, it just unsnaps out, you will see holding clips, as well as with the door switch assembly.

Make sure you turn the breaker off to your dishwasher first.
