Hello,

Thanks for providing this great resource. I didn't see an Oven forum, so I figured the range area was the next best thing.

There was a power outage about a week ago. Ever since the outage, the clock has been making a loud sustained noise. It sounds like a motor inside the clock is trying to run, but not getting anywhere. However, the actual clock still works.

I finally got tired of the noise and tried to get in there and figure it out. I turned off the breaker, pulled the oven out slightly, opened the panel up and didn't find anything obvious wrong. It looks like I just need to replace the timing unit, but GE discontinued the part.

These are the part numbers on the timing unit and the oven:

Timing Unit:
3ast51a80a1f
General Electric
1324268-D

Oven:
Whirlpool Oven
RB 160P XL
MK310 73208
3.3

Do you have any recommendations? Thanks in Advance!!

That picture looks really similar... I think only the colors are different.

Great Pictures!

The only 1 i could find online is the one i showed, i dont see the color as the same as yours, but sometimes i know if its a older appliance they will only make 1 replacement part just 1 color instead of many as when it was new.

Heres a bigger picture

Thanks Jake!

It looks like the same item.. The color isn't too important to me.

The price is pretty steep. $153!

Maybe we should just buy a new one.

Anyway, thank you very much for the help locating the item and thanks for providing such a valuable resource.

BTW, the picture isn't showing up in your post. It looks like the repairclinic website is blocking hotlinking the pictures.

Just for the record in case someone else is looking for the item, here's the URL: http://www.repairclinic.com/0081.asp?RccPartID=733762

If it's just the clock motor making the noise on your unit, it looks to be available separately for slightly less. See the following link:

LINK > Whirlpool RB160PXL Clock Motor

It will likely work on other GE manufactured range/oven clock/timer assemblies as well as I believe the motor part is a fairly standard component of them whereas the clock face, hands, etc. may vary from model to model.

JFYI

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I'm advanced enough to get the soldiering iron out!

I'll see if I can look inside the timing assembly better without breaking anything.

Thanks again for the tip!
