Default Quiet Partner II wash cycle will start

    Model Number: DU1100XTPS1
    Brand: Whirlpool

My Quiet Partner II just had a couple problems. First it stopped working and the "Clean" light would blink 7 times. Reading different posts I learned how to reset the machine by pressing a combination of buttons. Now when I try to start a new cycle it starts and you can hear water starting to go into the machine. There is a slight pause and then the cycle should start and the water sprays but instead there is a hum for 10 seconds or so, then a click and it stops. After a minute it hums again and nothing. When I open the door, there is water on the bottom and it is warm as steam comes out. The hum sounds like something wants to start but does not. I have taken the lower wash module apart to ensure nothing is stuck or grinding below. I press the drain/cancel and the water does drain and the machine does cancel the cycle. I have tried normal wash, pot and pan, etc but all act the same way.

Ok, then it sounds like your motor is bad and locked-up.

So you checked for any foreign objects like seeds, broken glass in the chopper blade screen assembly as described in this video?

Unfortunately, yes I had taken that apart as shown in the video and verified that it is clean. Most likely it is the motor, in which case I may be better off just buying a new machine.

    Yes, I agree.

Or if you have more time on your hands you could check the motor, just to make sure nothing is jammed in the motor impeller, and that would require you to take the motor out to see.

Here's the motor assembly for your model:
