Model is DU1145XTPB. Now that I think about it, it can't be a check valve, because the water in the basin will drain right out onto the floor if I take the drain pump off. Does the impeller on the pump need to kick out in order to properly engage? It's just odd that the motor seems to work so well when disconnected (impeller spins freely), yet not pump anything when it's hooked up. Thanks for any help.
I went back in tonight, and took the top of the motor assembly off from inside the washer basin so I could take a look at things from the top. With the assembly cover off, and the door switch engaged with a screwdriver, I can activate the drain and see plenty of turbulence from the drain pump. I put my fingers over the top of the drain inlet, and it feels like pressure coming up into the basin. (I did double check the polarity of the wires, to make sure that I didn't goof that up when I re-installed the pump motor...all good. )
So, I've either got an obstruction/check valve further down inside the drain pump that's somehow impeding flow, or that impeller is supposed to be actuating in and out, and it isn't.
Your missing 1 more number or letter after the "B" at the end of your model#.
Ok, so you verified the drain motor is working but it sounds like the impeller is stripped on it, since there is no blockage and the water just runs on the floor.
They make 2 different drain motors for your model, thats why that last number or letter after the "B" is very important.
Ah - so that impeller is supposed to actuate in and out, kind of like a bendix on a starter?
Now I'll have to check the model when I get home - I just read it off of the receipt from Lowes or Home Depot or wherever we picked it up from a few years ago. Thanks Jake.

DU1145XTPB3 is the full model. I guess if the impeller is supposed to actuate in/out in addition to spinning, I'll go ahead and order a new one. THanks.
