Red face Loud vibrating noise Kirkland Signature Whirlpool Refrigerator

Hi we have a Kirkland Signature Whirlpool Refrigerator Model ST21PKXJW00. It's about 5 or 6 years old and it's been making this on and off again loud vibrating sound. When you open the door of the refrigerator it's even louder. When you move the temperature gauge down to 0 the noise stops with a big clunk and then when you put the temperature back to the recommended temperature it idles normally then starts up with the loud noise. It eventually goes off for awhile then goes back on. It's really loud. Can you help? Thanks.

It sounds like your compressor has a broken spring in it. I saw alot of these do the exact same thing with that loud banging sound when i worked for Sears. You would need a new compressor, but that would cost about $500 with parts and labor. Its better to just buy a new refrigerator.
