If you have checked the chopper in the previous posts, and its all clear, you should be able to move that chopper blade around, if you can't then its likely a motor/pump bearing issue, its best to change it as a complete assembly.
I wouldn't recommend buying it on ebay, all you do is go here www.applianceblog.com/parts then enter your model# in both of the 2 appliance parts companies that are listed, and compare prices and return policies.

Whirlpool Dishwasher model GU1200XTKQ0
Wow! That sounds like the same problem I am having. I just took apart my dishwasher, although I thought it was fairly new since I just bought the house 1 year ago and the previous owners put in new appliances. Well my dishwasher made the same loud noise then it stopped working, only making a buzzing sound like the motor was stuck. When I pulled the impeller off I noticed lots of water corrosion and the bearings looked bad. I tried the dishwasher with the motor off and noticed that it turned but then got stuck. The problem appeared to be worn out bearings and a leaking impeller. I am going to find the bearings and impeller and see if that will to the job.

Yes, I doubt you would be able to find the motor bearings anywhere, unless you have a bearing shop in your area.
Here is the complete Motor & Impeller assembly for your model:

I'm having the same problem
Took the dishwasher apart and cleaned the food grinder but still having the same problem. I'm ready to replace the circulation motor....but my question is: do you access it from inside the tub of from the back/bottom of the dishwasher?
Hopefully someone can answer this.

This issue may have been taken care of but I thought I would add that I had the exact problem with my quiet partner 3. Very noisy and the Chopper was getting torn up but not because of stuff in the chopper area.
The bearings on the motor were so bad that the chopper was moving around and the blades were hitting the side of its housing and chewing everything up as it spun.
I found a dishwasher just about like mine on Craigslist and offered him $35 for it and he said OK. I removed the motor from the new to me dishwasher, (from the Bottom) and after removing my washer from the cabinet switched the motors and now it works again like it did when I bought it new.
That's my story, maybe it will help someone.

I had the same problem
Jake,
Yesterday our Whirlpool Quiet Parnter II started making a grinding sound when operating just like described in the other posts. I talked to a guy at a local repair store and he said I'd have to bring it in to have it checked out.
I read your recommendations about checking the grinder to see if there was something there. I took it apart this afternoon and found a small piece of hard plastic - it looks like it was broken off one of the basket wheel axles. I took it out and the noise was gone.
Thanks for the advice and the instructions. It saved me a ton of time and was much easier than trying to take the whole thing out of the cabinet or replace the motor.
