After a while, we heard the IM motor activate but the cubes did not eject into the bin. Opening the door to the IM, we could see some of the cubes sticking up slightly. As patience is a virtue I sometimes lack... I waited a bit longer thinking the next batch would push this batch out (wrong). At this point, the cubes have pretty much disappeared (melted and evaporated as the heater turns on and off?). We have not heard the motor run since the first time. No additional water has entered the IM. The fingers are no longer in the 2 o'clock position. Other stuff I have checked - Prior to doing the power / reset, I tried to check for a frozen water line at the IM - a few minutes with a hair dryer did not change anything. The temp is 0 degrees. Holding the flapper down the red light is on constantly, releasing the flapper makes the red light blink (two blinks on, and a pause). Just checked - the fingers are at an 8 o'clock position - pointing to the lower, back of the fridge, and what little water is left is frozen. I would appreciate a nudge in the right direction for the next step / thing to try. Thanks! Nelson |

Pull the icemaker out, take the cover off the head and look in the very center of the large white gear. The center/ hub of that dial has two little bitty plastic pressure clips holding that gear on...is one missing? It should look symetrical. I think you may just need a new icemaker head module. Even if the dial is still held in place properly, the wiper contacts behind that gear may be bad. I've replaced countless modules for the exact same thing. By the way, module part # is 628366... Just a note, the emitter and receiver board only really monitors ice level and icemaker thermostat operation. No power will be supplied to ice maker until thermostat is satisfied via those controls and if ice level is below open slot in ice bin. If you are heating in the icemaker mold, that means the boards are sensing a need for ice and powering the ice maker & working properly. Once icemaker powered, if motor contact is bad or intermittent, harvest won't occur.

I have a Whirlpool Conquest and have an issue with the icemaker where the cubes do not all leave the trap door and therefore, do not get to the freezer door receptacle. Almost every batch of ice needs to have a few remaining cubes manually removed from the ice making compartment to the door holding tank. The cubes sit on top of the cube tray/ejection fingers and prevent further ice production.
Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks in advance for the assistance! Barry |
