Default Another Whirlpool Icemaker Problem

My modular icemaker (IM#51062198597) had ice freeze up and stop the ice dispenser. I eventually heard it clicking trying to turn the dispenser. I removed the ice and hooked the icemaker back up. Nothing was working. Took the icemaker back out and found one of the plastic prongs on the drive broken allowing the dispenser fingers to freely turn. Can I purchase only the small plastic sleeve with the prongs that attach the exterior dial?

Also, I would have thought with just this mechanism broken that the icemaker would still fill with water, but it is not. With the dial not attached properly, the conection is broken from the dial to the icemaker motor itself. Will this disconnect cause the icemaker not to fill with water. Just wondering if the broken "pronged coupling" is my only problem.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Here is the parts diagram for your ice dispenser:
http://www3.sears.com/imaging/ImageP...&titleID=00005

#16 is the coupling

#25 is the coupling, bottom

Over the years, I have had to replace more of these than anything else.

Jake

I am sorry but I must have used the wrong terminology. The "dispenser" I was referring to is the fingers that rotate and kick the ice out of the icemaker. The parts that are broken are inside the icemaker. I found what appears to be the diagram, but it does not seem to list the parts that I need. I need the dial (has "Do not rotate manually" written on it), and the "coupling that locks the dial into place (round hollow cylinder with two pinch fingers that lock into the dial.

I am wondering if these parts are sold seperately or do I have to purchase the entire assembly (around $75).

I am also still curious to if the dial being disconnected (with it broken it does not make proper contact (brass terminals no longer touch housing properly) should the water still be dispensed into the cube tray?

Ok, sorry about that.

Here is the parts diagram for the ice maker:

#35 is the front module assembly

Its possible for that dial to be broken but still put water in, I would just turn off the ice maker till you fix it.
