Model: WF-L400V/L400V
Our Ice maker has stopped working suddenly.
Also the water has started to taste different since then.
We are able to use the water outlet.
Please suggest us.

Hi,

I can't locate any information under that model# you posted. Is that the model# of the ice maker or the refrigerator?

Hi Jake,

That was the model of the ice maker.
Today the entire refrigerator and freezer have stopped working.
We see the light in the refrigerator and the freezer ... but the temperature is not cooling.
There is an unusual noice from the refrigerator.
We hear it almost once every 5 min ... it sounds as if it is trying to start something and then immediately it stops ..

As per the earlier suggestions in this site we tried to stop and start the refrigerator and since then we see that both have completely stopped cooling.

Please advise what we can do.

Here is the info that we have:
Model#: GS6SHAXMB00
Serial#: SP3449200
Manuf Date: Aug 2003.

Thanks,

Sounds like your compressor relay is bad, very common on the Whirlpool/Kenmore/KitchenAid Side by Sides.

This thread will help you check it and change it:

Hi Jake,

Thanks for ur suggestion.
We turned off the refrigerator and then removed the Start Relay.
We checked it by shaking the relay a number of times ... we don't hear any noise from it.

Here are the details of the relay:
EECON
TSD-115/127V-80Hz-Y
213615000
1000657ETC

Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do.

You would now need a volt/ohm meter to check for a bad relay/overload internally, or a bad compressor, this link explains more:
