Default Whirlpool - Replaced Relay - No Cool

Hi all!

Hey I have a whirlpool model ED22TEXHW01 side by side that stopped getting cold yesterday. It happened once before and they just replaced the start device. Being that the issue was the same, I picked up a new Start Device today, model WHI 8201799 and started to replace it.

I pulled apart the original housing unit to find that one of the pieces inside basically disintegrated. There was hardly anything solid left of it and the housing had burn marks on it. This was to the white wire by the way.

So I replaced the pieces and noticed immediately that my freezer was starting to get cold. The fridge side is blowing a bit of cool air but not that hard. After an hour it is still not cold. Actually it is not even cool.

Any ideas what may be causing this and the price factor? This is a 6 year old unit. I had planned on replacing it next year sometime but did not really want to do it before the holidays. I do not mind spending a few hundred but beyond that I would rather bite the bullet and replace it.

Thanks for the read and any advice you have to offer!
