I have been noticing a bad, off smell coming from the back and underneath by the front grill of my refrigerator. I can't smell anything bad inside the refrigerator or freezer. Model number GS6SHE. The drip pan is clean and the water in it doesn't smell. The water in it usually dries pretty quickly and doesn't sit. (I've checked and cleaned it frequently hoping it was the problem--it wasn't.) My husband pulled the refrigerator from the wall (it's enclosed with a short wall on one side and cabinets, dishwasher on the other). The fan was running so I could smell this stale off odor coming up from the back, not green and mildewy or moldy, but just like water that as been sitting. I smelled the same odor when I was in Lowes and walked by the dectorative zen fountains, just a funky old water smell. There was no water leak on the floor under the refrigerator so my question is, could there be water condensing and sitting somewhere in the back of the refridgerator besides the drip pan that could be causing this smell? I didn't have this problem with my previous refrigerator and we had it for over 10 years after getting it used! It makes the area in the kitchen smell bad and I notice it whenever I walk by. It's driving me crazy.

I would take off your lower back access panel when you have it pulled away from your wall, and get a flashlight and check all in by the compressor and condenser fan, I have seen objects and small rodents get back in there and smell awful.
