Default Another Whirlpool Ice Maker failure

I have the same problem as described in the picture. My neighbor has the exact same refridgerator and he already replaced his ice maker. I looked at his old parts and he had the same failure. Both fridges are just three years old.

Has Whirlpool done anything about these parts failing since this was posted?

Also, the olive drab coating on my ice maker is wearing off. Have you seen that condition? It looks like it may be time for a whole new ice maker.

Jake,

I have rec'd the new part and installed it. Nothing has happened with the ice maker. There was no instructions with the part. Is there any prep work that needs to be done to get the ice maker to work again?
