Default Whirlpool side-by-side refridgerator ice maker not working...

Hello,

My refridgerator is a little over a year old. It was working perfectly until I changed the water filter at the base of the grille. Now, no ice is being produced by the icemaker. Water still comes out of the door. The fridge has not been moved or turned off so I doubt it is the water line, since the water is working. I have checked for ice jams in the door and in the bin. I don't see any. I also checked to make sure the on/off switch in turned on. It is. Is there something I'm missing? I don't understand how it could be working one day and by just changing the water filter....it now stops working but is producing water from the door. My model number is ED2SHAXMT11. Please someone give my some advice. Should I schedule a service repair from Whirlpool or just call a local repairman?

Hi,

Look above your ice maker on the freezer ceiling, you will see a black rubber spout, that puts water in your ice maker, you may have an ice clog inside of it, stick something up in there to see.

Thanks Jake for trying to help me. I did discover that the black rubber spout on the icemaker ceiling is frozen. I have tried numerous techniques to try to thaw it out with no luck. It keeps refreezing. I am going to try to defrost the freezer completely to see if this helps. If not, I will be forced to call a repair man.

Thanks again,

Beth

Ok, they have a upgraded tubing kit for these now.

Here it is, includes instructions:

I managed to finally fix the problem with a hairdryer. It fully thawed the tubing and now we have ice once again. Thanks for all your help.

Ok, sounds good, but if it keeps freezing up, ordering that tubing kit I linked to above would fix it permanently.
