Default Old Emerson A/C

Picked up an old Emerson Quiet-kool window A/C the other day sitting out at the curb, probably around 25 years old. I figured if something was broken like it needed a fan motor or something basic I could fix it, if not then just throw it out. Turns out nothing at all was wrong with it, it was just old and a little dusty! Cleaned the outside with soap and water, didn't even need to take the cabinet off to clean the evaporator fins inside. No damage to it anywhere!
Is it me or are these old tanks built better than the new ones? I'm sure it probably isn't as efficient but compared to two Sharp a/c's I have that put out the same BTU's this thing is far quieter, no shudders or vibrations anywhere when the compressor is on. It even has a grille covering the evap in the back. Only company that does that now is Friedrich, I don't know that Fedders does it still. I don't know it just seems all the new ones I see use too much plastic..
Can someone tell me who sells "accordians" for the sides? That's all it needs.
