The E3 seems to indicate a problem in the unit's thermister (solid state temperature sensor)... or the electronic control thinks there is. Further investigation will likely be required to determine which.

I'm afraid I have had no training servicing that product. Maybe someone with some hands-on experience will suggest a course of action??

JFYI

Yup!

You might want to start by grabing your full model & serial #'s.

Good news...I didn't originally purchase the air conditioner and do not have a receipt, so I assumed that the 5-year warranty Maytag has wouldn't apply...when in fact...Maytag is paying to get it fixed, seems they only needed the serial number...thanks guys for your help...

Didn't think Maytag did the warranty on these, Fedders was responsiblefor the warranty since they made the units!?!
