Humming noise (AC) Fedders 8000 BTU Model: A3Q08f2cg. Anyone know what could this be???

The AC truns on but wont run??

Turns on but won't run? Is the fan working? If yes the humming probably is the compressor. If no the fan motor could be bad, a bad capacitor,etc. Do the lights dim when unit is humming? I don't know what these units sell for now but if either the compressor or fan motor is bad throw it away-unless it's under warranty

The Fan won't run. When turning on the AC the home lights dim.
When i first truned on the AC on FAN the humming started, while switching to "high cool" the AC seemed like normal; the sound of AIR was about to release without the fan running. I tryed to speen the fan while the AC on "high cool" but just won't RUN.
