ice maker no water

I have a Kenmore side by side 106.51335710 with the ice maker on the freezer door. The ice maker stopped filling so I let it thaw and it worked for a few hours, made some cubes, then stopped. I tested the water valve and the ice maker solenoid works fine. I tried to blow through the ice maker...

I have a Maytag MFI2669VEM1 refrigerator. The issue I'm having is the refrigerator is freezing up and the ice maker was not producing ice. Looking online I found that if the ice maker is turned on but water is not connected (my water is connected) to the fridge it would cause a similar issue...
