KitchenAide Model KSRB25QG Refrig., 10 yrs. old, stopped cooling/freezing. The fan works, we detached the start device relay switch and shook it, no rattling sound. The compressor was getting louder and running longer prior to stopping. The local repair place said $67 to diagnose, if it's the switch $150-$200 (maybe less) total to replace, compressor just under $500 (not an option). Is it worth it to try replacing the switch ourselves or are there other problems that could be the cause we wouldn't know about? Or is the above enough info to determine it's the compressor and buy a new refrig.? Any info or help would be appreciated. Deb
