Our icemaker is not refilling with water. This happened suddenly. Since it is 7 years old, I am reluctant to spend a lot of money.
The icemaker previously didn't fill whereas the water dispenser has never failed. The previous time I suspected the valve,
ordered a new one, then looked at the location and decided I could not do it myself. The valve is at the lower right
near the floor and, at 73 years old, was not something I could do and then regain mobility.
That time I also suspected a faulty water filter. (This model uses filters with two nipples.) Discovered an internet post
that the problem could be caused by calcium buildup. Ordered and installed a new filter housing and the problem
was resolved - that time. (The housing can be taken apart, o-rings cleaned, reassembled...)
Not positive, but may have been May of 2021.
After posting this, I am going to look on craiglist to see if there is a market for our refrigerator - and then shop for a new refrigerator. But, if someone provides an easy suggestion, I'll try that.
Secondarily, this model has two freezer door switches. Lower one controls the lights. Cannot determine what the upper one controls.
Switches rarely fail, but since this happened suddenly ... maybe.
