Our icemaker is not refilling with water. This happened suddenly. Since it is 7 years old, I am reluctant to spend a lot of money.
The icemaker previously didn't fill whereas the water dispenser has never failed. The previous time I suspected the valve,
ordered a new one, then looked at the location and decided I could not do it myself. The valve is at the lower right
near the floor and, at 73 years old, was not something I could do and then regain mobility.
That time I also suspected a faulty water filter. (This model uses filters with two nipples.) Discovered an internet post
that the problem could be caused by calcium buildup. Ordered and installed a new filter housing and the problem
was resolved - that time. (The housing can be taken apart, o-rings cleaned, reassembled...)
Not positive, but may have been May of 2021.

After posting this, I am going to look on craiglist to see if there is a market for our refrigerator - and then shop for a new refrigerator. But, if someone provides an easy suggestion, I'll try that.

Secondarily, this model has two freezer door switches. Lower one controls the lights. Cannot determine what the upper one controls.
Switches rarely fail, but since this happened suddenly ... maybe.

This model has had issues with the wiring under the freezer door getting cut, thus making the ice maker and/or auger motor stop working.

I'd first, check your wire harness under the freezer door and see if you have any cut wires. You MUST peel back that black wire harness LOOM to see all the wires leading into the freezer door.:)

Look here:

Look at his post #6 he found frayed and broken wires underneath the freezer door, I'd remove your kickplate and check for that first.

Here's another one with the same thing about the frayed and broken wires: FIXED: 106.51173310 Kenmore elite ice maker not working - no led light

Here's another: FIXED: Whirlpool WSF26C2EXF01 Door Icemaker Not Working

I know you mentioned getting on the floor to check that is not possible for you, but if you have a friend or relative that can do it for you, that would work too.

Other than that, then yes its time to go refrigerator shopping.

Jake,
Thanks for your prompt response!

After posting we went shopping and found a new refrigerator we liked.
Purchased a 5 year warranty and hope that was wasted money ...

Happy New Year
