My Sears Kenmore Coldspot fridge is making a clicking noise. I cleaned the coils which helped since the clicking noises are infrequent now. The thermometer says the fridge temps are between 32 and 40 and the freezer is at zero. The repairman told me that the clicking menas that the compressor is dying. He didnt perform any electrical checks. Can i check the electrical stuff with a meter so I can find out for sure if everything is okay?

Sounds like the compressor start relay device has gone bad.

Unplug your refrigerator and take off the compressor start device relay and shake it as described here: [FIXED] How to replace a (Whirlpool/Kenmore Model 106) Refrigerator Start Relay

If yours rattles then its broken.
