Unhappy My Dryer takes forever to dry clothes

My GE Profile Dryer Model# DPSF495EW0WW takes way too long to dry a load of clothes. Sometimes over 2 hours for a large load.
The vent pipe is clear and the lint filter is clean.
When I set the dryer to "Timed Dry" the element pulls 11.5 amps for 1.5 minutes and then turns off for approximately 45 seconds before coming back on. The element does not looked shorted or burned in any way.
Can someone tell me what could be happening to cause this problem?
I sure hate to go out and buy a new one when something simple could
    fix it. Thanks.

I just unhooked my vent hose and the air temp was 130 degrees while running in Auto Mode and Timed Mode as well. I have a small load in the dryer and it took over an hour for then to dry.

I finally decided to remove the drum and expose the heating element.
There was a break in the element coil on the side where the two power wires connect
    to the element.
