Hi
Sears Kenmore washer 110.20912991 series 90 type 111

I changed the broken motor coupler. When it wash back together it made this sharp Click Click Click noise as it was in spin cycle. Then it made a grind noise and does nothing now...new coupler is still good.

Is the transmission toast now? Possibly this is what broke the coupler in first place?
I posted a 51 second video of the noises Is this mean I need a new washer?

thank you

Direct drive Whirlpool built washer motor couplers usually break because of repeatedly overloading the machine. After watching your video, it looks and sounds like the spin gear inside the transmission has gone bad. You can replace the transmission which isn't hard to do or you can repair your transmission using 388253A neutral drain kit for about for about $30ish. At our shop, we recommend repairing washers like your if it's in good shape otherwise and not rusty, even if that mean putting a new transmission in it.

Hi Thank you
I was worrying later it might be bunch of parts that drive the drum. I found the parts list with the washer book and things like block basket drive etc....
Is there a way to be sure, the basket spin thing is okay before I get a transmission and it still not fix it.?
I can turn the clutch part with my fingers and thumb, and basket turns but takes effort, and where motor coupler goes on transmission I can turn either direction with one finger (motor is off). Agitator turns either way with one finger like nothing.
We are kind of stuck as new washer is kind of out of reach, and may be back ordered.
Are the good washers it is bought Feb 2001.
I appreciate your help

Hi here is a video of the noise..new motor couple installed, coupler turns but basket does not spin, nor does the clutch part.
I can turn clutch with my thumb and fingers with effort it moves basket. see 7 second video

this is previous video of click before it stopped

Trying to figure if it is transmission gone. Do not want to buy a transmission and it still not work.

Thanks
