Hi Jeff
Thanks for the advice. Supposedly these were reasonable units....about $205 + about 25 shipping and tax for new tranny. Think it be worth the gamble?
It seems pretty good shape, a bit of rust on the sub frame, plastic water tub is easy to clean with spray 9 and a stick with a nylon scrub pad attached.
We looked at New machines...Yikes seem flimsy now. About second thing we were told by sales prople, was to buy a five year extended warranty. And some units were possibly back ordered.

You help appreciated... very much. I sure learned a lot of stuff on this adventure. Thanks Ron.

Do your rebuild idea. Gearbox/tranny, drive block and clutch should buy a few more years of service. Worth the gamble.

Thank You Jeff. I will let you know as I ordered it Monday morning. There were none closer to where I live, but 11 transmissions about 2000 miles away. So it may be about a week(shipping estimates are a bit sketchy)
Thanks for helping and I will be in contact with you.
Ron 🙂

Hi Jeff
I ordered a new transmission...my washer called for a 3360630, it is now replaced by 3360629 . Not sure what is different? Any idea what may be different? I am just curious.
When I was taking the clutch assembly off old transmission it seemed a much taller collar than new transmission.. (see pic old collar) All could think was wrong parts. I noticed that collar could be lifted. So put her all together. It is washing clothes right now.
The neutral pump out of water is noisier now, but otherwise, seems to be doing the things it should be. My wife us happy as laundromat is not cheap & time consuming.
All said and done trans & coupler $270 with tax & shipping.

Many Thank You's to you for helping me get her running. This is a great site.

Sorry, no idea why the part# changed.

I noticed that collar could be lifted.

That is normal.

Glad to hear it is up and running again :)
