Please refer to video:

Washer spin had become very anemic in recent months and sometimes required manual help to get it started turning. After replacing the guts of the clutch, it now spins great. But doing a small load of towels (first load since repair), the washer started walking across the floor during the spin (moved about 6 inches). There was no unusual noise or banging. The load didn't appear to be unbalanced.

I'm wondering if I have a suspension issue. Does the spin wobble look excessive in the video? I haven't seen a normal spin speed in so long, I'm not sure what's normal ;)! Does anything underneath look askew? Maybe I just need to carefully level the machine.

Hi, In your video it looks like its spinning properly with no clothes in it.

But with a smaller load if the machine walks, then that seems like your suspension pads AND tub wear pads are worn out, that will cause this issue.

Here's the suspension pads for your model you can order here:

Glad to help, let us know how it goes.

Since this operation requires a lot of disassembly, is there anything I should lubricate while I have it apart?

No, nothing else to lubricate.

Please refer to video:

I got everything apart and changed the suspension pads and wear pads. Getting the tubs out after 24 years of togetherness was a chore, and I have some concerns about putting it back together:

1. I assume the shaft seal at the bottom of the outer tub needs to be water tight? My seal looks pretty bad, and the mating surface of the shaft has corrosion. I think I can remove the corrosion on the shaft, but should I replace the outer tub seal?
2. The drive block is very corroded, as is its mating surface on the inner tub tube. Would removing the corrosion with a wire wheel be sufficient, or should I replace parts?

Yes, I see that in your video. Yes, I'd clean the corrosion and replace that shaft seal.

This one is it:

Removing the corrosion should be good enough.

I changed the suspension pads on an older washer (easy of course) and wanted to do the wear pads as well but chickened out when I saw the video...I had the exact same concerns about petrified seals and gaskets..and leaks.

but good luck might as well do it right like you are doing it will probably last forever after this

The old suspension pads were a little flat on the tops (photo), but the wear pads looked almost new. But since I had everything apart, and had the parts, I went ahead and changed them too.

I changed the outer tub center gasket. That was my biggest concern (a leak). I used fine sandpaper on the base of the center shaft to try and get the mild corrosion off, and then gave it a good wipe down with WD-40. The tub went on fairly easily. And so far no leaks!
