Hi Dale,

Pull the dryer out from the wall, then remove the vent exhaust hose, then start a cycle with NO CLOTHES in the drum on TIMED DRY and see if the heater stays ON.

If not, then unplug the dryer and ohm test your thermistor. That thermistor should read about 10K ohms (10,000) ohms at room temperature(77 DEGREES).

Watch this video to access the thermistor: Duet/HE3 Electric Dryer Thermistor Video

Here's the thermistor for your model you can order if needed:
Thermistor WP8577274

It your thermistor ohm tests good, Its possibly a faulty relay on the control board, Unplug your dryer then look on the control board and you will see a black relay marked HEATER, Take the wires off of it and jump that heater relay(JUST AS A TEST) and see if the heater continues to stay ON.

Be Careful not to touch any other wires when working with live electricity.

If the heater does continue to stay on, you will need to order and replace the control board.

Here's the control board for your model(SEE THE WORD HEATER UNDER THAT BLACK RELAY?)

Let us know what you find.
