We have a Kenmore Heavy Duty 70 Series Extra Capacity washer ( model 110.92573200 ) and this wash has just recently decided it didn't want to spin anymore i checked it with the lid button held in. It definitely fills, agitates, and drains just fine but once to spin cycle you hear the pause then the motor starts up you can even feel the vibration of the motor but no spinning; even tried starting the spinning by hand but no luck.

I am pretty electrically and mechanically inclined so if it is something a person can fix themselves i am sire i can but i have no idea where to start looking.

I was reading up and realized the washer doesn't have a belt but has a transmission and there is a gear that can go out well strip out and i was going to check that but i don't want to tear it apart if i don't have to cause i am one of those when going to put it back together i am missing a screw, it still works but a screw always disappears. What would you all start at?

Yes, On your model you only have the motor coupler and no belt.

If your motor coupling is fine, do you see the silver clutch turning when it should be spinning in the spin cycle?

The silver clutch is just above the gearcase.

If its not turning, your transmission is shot.

Here's the transmission for your model you can order(HOW TO video is in this link):
Transmission 3360629

You will need a jumper wire to jump the lid switch once the cabinet is off to make it spins in the spin cycle. Read here for that: http://www.applianceaid.com/dd_lidswitch.html

If your clutch spins, your gearcase is fine and then you just replace the clutch and basket drive. If your budget is tight then just order the clutch, most times a new clutch will fix it, but I've had a few that needed both.

Here is the basket drive for your model(Video Included):

Here is your clutch assembly:
Clutch 285785

Also check your tub drive hub, it may be is stripped. But lots of times you will find the inner tub loose when that strips. So with you hand move you inner tub back and worth and see if it wobbles.

Here's the tub drive block for your model:

I have the same problem, but it works/starts spinning when I manually, by-hand, give the tub a "whirl" or two---then I hear a loud noise and it's off to the races...

Does it need a new clutch? THX!

You more than likely just need the clutch assembly, but replace all the parts that come with the new clutch assembly including the plastic brake cam per the video in the clutch assembly part link I posted above in post #2.

Keep us posted.
