The washer is 30 years old and the drain pump is no longer made. It's available for $115 to $130. I have to make the old washer work for a month or so while our front loader is being repaired.

The attached photo is of the OEM drain pump

Not paying $115.00 for a pump that has to work for a month or two, so anything comparable will be fine.

I am wondering if there is a generic pump I can install inside or outside of the washing machine. Hoping to spend as little as possible.

I am going to try to unfreeze the pump motor first, but I'm not sure if the old part is made to be taken apart and cleaned.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
Rick

Is it seized?

Yes, it should be able to be disassembled... minimally at least. Make sure it isn't just obstructed internally before going on a wild goose chase for parts.

While I don't see a new pump assembly being available through regular channels I do see several available at the following link. If just the motor and impeller that is the problem, it looks like there's just a motor with impeller that can be purchased which is less expensive.

There might be a slim chance but that would be up to you to discover. There is no set method I know of nor do I know of a suitable pump to recommend.

Well, I'm going to give it a shot. Rebuilding the pump motor Saturday. We will see how it goes. Thanks for replying.

It looks like only the $105 to $115 dollar pump and assembly is available. I ordered the motor with impeller that showed up at the link, and it's the wrong. So I guess I'm back where I started, except $40 some dollars thrown away.

Going to try and rebuild the motor.

Sorry to hear that. If they're identifying it as the wrong number, they should take it back.

Too bad it's kind of a rare washer design. It might make it difficult to find any used parts for it. :(
