Our fridge stop cooling a while back and we had an appliance guy come take a look. He immediately concluded it was the control board. He said he couldn't find the parts and that because it was made in Korea, they would probably discontinue making that part. We were about to buy a new fridge, when I searched and found a part number that they said would fit with our fridge. Part number 40301-0063422-04 is the part they say will match our fridge (the appliance guy was looking for "03"). The appliance service company said it should fit, but that the Sears Parts Direct store was very unreliable (and they say no refunds). Wondering if anyone has had success replacing a circuit board in this model or something similar, as well as any experiences with that particular website. Would love to save our otherwise mint condition fridge, but also don't want to waste money on a part that will be more hassle than good. Thanks so much for your time!

I have no experience with that fridge design so can't help with suggesting the cause.

I have heard that the inventory levels listed on their web site are not always accurate. I would suggest you call first to actually check their inventory although I don't know where else you can purchase it if out of stock.

It has nothing to do with where the fridge or part is made. It depends on its popularity. The web site says that part is one of their "Best Sellers" so will likely be available for quite a while... dependent on shipping delays.

That is standard for electrical parts once installed (see the following link) .

I'd be more concerned the technician actually 'new' the board was the problem and not just guessing it was.
