We purchased a Kenmore French door bottom freezer 18 months ago, and today we are waiting for someone to haul it away. A sensor in the ice maker went bad, causing not only the ice maker but also the two control boards to need replaced. The repairs would have cost over $700 and would have taken approximately three weeks. We opted to boycott Kenmore and buy another brand. BTW, a service technician did not recommend the extended warranty because it does not provide comprehensive coverage.
