So, I have a new problem. I purchased a 3-n-1 solid state hard start relay. The fridge cools, but isn't consistent. It often will "short cycle" it comes on and runs for 20- 50 seconds. But not always, some times it will run for 30 minutes. Over the course of 24 hours it will very from 30° to 47°. Is my thermostat going bad as well?

Hmm,,, that’s what it sounds like. Check if the contacts are open or closed when it turns off. If they are open each time the compressor shuts off, it’s the t-stat

OK, keep us posted.
Sorry, I forgot to post the results. The thermostat appeared to be closing the points. But they were just very lightly touching, making and breaking contact. I used a point file on them and adjusted the points to have a little more pressure when closed. It's been running fine since. Thanks for all the help.
