2016 Speed Queen AWN432.

If agitator has any load on it...IE clothes to push around...it just stalls.
If you are only moving water, it works fine.
Cycles and spins fine.

Not sure if it is related, but there is a slight noise in 2nd video.

Take a look and see what you think.
I use this machine at an animal-rescue and need to get her going ASAP or call a repairman if it is a difficult job.
Thank you for any insights.

Added complete model number

Hi,

We need the complete model number. The model number tag should be either located under the lid or on the top console or on the side of the machine.

Here's the results I get:
AWN432SP111TW01
AWN432SP113CW04
AWN432SP113FW28
AWN432SP113TW01
AWN432SP113TW04

Ok, Thanks!

Now remove the agitator, it pulls up, grasp it from the bottom and pull it up, pull hard. Then see if the agitator bell is stripped, try to move it back and forth with your hand and see if it slips while its on the transmission shaft, the transmission shaft should NOT move while you are doing that.

Here's the agitator bell for your model:

Filled it a third full off HOT water, waited 10 minutes, put a pillow between my chest and agitator...and it pulled right off!

I DID notice that the shaft and agitator will NOT spin when unit is not running/off, as it did in my first video. Not at all.
I tried with everything i had. Do not seem stripped.
That said....the splines do not looked stripped, do they? (I must admit...the pic you sent they do not taper like mine...but the ones of the white Amana part in my next post seem to look the same as mine.)
The top edge of the shaft splines DO sort-of taper off...but just at the very top of them. I think that is by design, or are they worn?
Thank you

Would it be that the drive-bell is stripped on the shaft, rather than stripped on the agitator?
If that were the case...wouldn't it spin on shaft when i tried turning agitator/drive-bell?
I don't have a drive bell removal tool so just wondering if inspecting the shaft/bell splines were needed to be looked at?
Thank you

Yes, that's what I meant, sorry I didn't clarify that.:)

Yes, exactly right.

No, if the agitator bell will not move on the transmission shaft when you turn it by hand both ways, then its not stripped.

Did you do that yet? Does the agitator bell move at all with the transmission shaft when you turn the agitator bell with your hand either way?

That's very strange.

I'm not sure what is causing this problem then, its best to have a Speed Queen tech. come out and see what's going on, and also have the tech see what is causing the noise from below the washer as well.

Jake

What did the Speed Queen tech find?

Jake

Nothing yet.
I called two authorized Speed Queen repair centers/dealers, spoke with the service managers, and neither had a clue as to what it could be.
In a single sentence: The agitator is solid as a rock immovable when unit off, but when it is in a cycle, it spins freely.
Nobody is even saying "It's the transmission"
They are just stumped.

This makes me wonder what is the value of paying $125 service call to have some local-dealer be equally as puzzled?
I can do that over the phone or computer for free.

So my next step was to wait until they open today and call the factory.
Perhaps they can at least shine some light on possibilities.

Thank you,
Bill

Ok Bill, all authorized Speed Queen dealers should have access to the HOTLINE phone number to the Factory and they will know the answer to give you.
