Ice dispenser works intermittently
I have an ice dispenser that will dispense ice intermittently. The water always dispenses and the ice maker produces ice normally.
At times when I push the crushed or cubed button the light will dim when I try to dispense; if I let it cycle sometimes the light gets bright and will distribute while other times I must cycle through several times. It seems to help if I hit the light button or the lock button for a few second first.
I see that some people are replacing the main board; how do I know it isn’t the ice dispensing board? How can I check so that I can replace the correct part and I’m not just throwing parts at it?
Thanks for your help….

Thats a good question, but as far as I know there is no way to test if the dispenser board is bad or the motherboard.
According to others when it does this its the motherboard thats bad.
Read this entire thread and you will see for yourself:
