Default F11 code on Whirlpool Duet

    Model Number: GWH9150PW0
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 6-10 years

    Hello experts,

I've got a Whirlpool Duet model GWH9150PW0. Overall I like it, but I'm having issues with it today.

I get the F11 code, which tells me to check the CCU, the MCU, the drive system and the wiring harness. I start the diagnostic check, it gets through C:00, C:01, then starts beeping and flashing F11. Any ideas on which component needs to be replaced? None of them are particularly cheap, so I don't want to guess wrong.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Ok Eric,

    Now for the F11 error:

    Possible Causes / Procedure
    1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
    2. Check wire harness connections to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
    3. Check the drive system for any worn or failed components.
    4. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
    5. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle.
    6. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor.
    7. Check the drive motor for powered rotations
    8. Check that the serial harness at the MCU is not mounted upside down. The wires should be to the left when facing the MCU connectors.

Now another member had this same issue and found after he cleaned the water pump filter out, the F11 error code never showed up again.
Read his post#3 in this thread: FIXED Duet Washer GHW9400PW0 F11 error code

    I'd suggest doing that first.

Unscrew the pump handle with your hand, get something to catch the water thats left in it, get some big towels to soak up any excess water that comes out as well.

Here's the water pump for your model:
Drain Pump 280187 Order now for same day shipping. 365 day return policy.

Watch this video to access/replace it:

The MCU board and water pump are located in the front bottom of your washer, just remove the very bottom access panel.

To remove the front access panel below the door:
You first remove the 3 bottom torx screws(all the way at the bottom next to the floor) then Remove the panel by lifting slightly and pulling forward.

Check the MCU for burnt spots on it, one member even reported powered degerent in the board, and he cleaned it all up, and it started working.

Unplug your washer first before checking the pump and MCU.

    Here's the motor control unit(MCU):
Motor Control Board 8182706 Order now for same day shipping. 365 day return policy.

    To check the CCU:
Unplug your washer for 1 minute, then:

Check for voltage going to Central Control Unit (CCU) by listening for a click in the CCU when unit is plugged in. If no click replace CCU.

Do you hear the click when you plug your washer back in?

Here's the CCU for your model you can order here if needed:
Main Control Board 8182695 Order now for same day shipping. 365 day return policy.
