Kenmore 80 series washer will not advance through cycles, is it the timer?
My Kenmore 80 Series washer will SOMETIMES not advance through the timer cycles. It starts out fine, but then will get stuck in the middle of any cycle randomly, sometimes it has stuck in agitate for an hour before I notice. A few days ago the dial would not seem to move at automatically all, I would have to go out and manually move the dial to drain cycle, then manually to spin, manually to rinse, no automatic movement of dial at all. Then the next day my wife ran a load through and it worked fine through all cycles automatically, she figured it had fixed itself. Then today she ran another load through and found it had been stuck spinning at high speed for over 3 hours!
I suspect the timer, but I don't want to buy a $120 part and have it still not work. Has anybody had a similar problem with this washer?
Thanks for any help,
