    Default Whirlpool (RBS305) Error Code - F3 E2

    Model Number: RBS305PDQ14
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hello,

I've recently started receiving an error on my display panel - F3 E2. The oven doesn't seem to be heating up properly and when the error appears, the oven is locked.

I've also noticed that the oven, after being used and turned off, will make a "crackling" noise.

Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Ohm check your oven sensor with a multimeter. It should read 1080 ohms at room temperature.

    Hi Rick,

i replaced the oven sensor but I'm still receiving the E2-F3 error. Is there a "hard-reset" that I can initiate or should I contact a professional?

    thanks,
    Jeff

The F is the fault code and the E is the error code. F3-E2 is, the oven temperature is going above 575*F in Bake mode. Once it reaches that temperature, it thinks it's in Self Clean so it locks the door. If the oven sensor is good then the relay contacts on the board are probably welded together. When you turn on the bake function, do both elements in the oven turn on? I can tell you how to check voltage but I'm guessing since you replaced the sensor and it didn't solve the problem, you don't have a meter to measure anything. Here's the electronic control for your model:
