Default Water leaking from bottom of refrigerator after replacing water filter

    Model Number: GX5FHTXVY05
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

After replacing the water filter I noticed water leaking from the bottom of refrigerator ... no leaks at filter or dispenser. I flushed air out of system.

Ok, can you pinpoint exactly where the leak is coming from? Get a flashlight and look under the refrigerator and behind it, Pull the refrigerator out from the wall and remove the lower access panel and check in there too.

Thanks for your quick response. The puddles are at each corner of the bottom of the refrigerator at the front ... sometimes only on one side. I will try what you have suggested.

There was a sheet of ice at the bottom of the freezer ... after removing that ... no more leaks ... I didn't see it until I removed all of the food ... in addition, someone had removed the filter without me knowing ... chances are the water settled down in the freezer at that time. Anyway, no more leaks ...

    Thanks,
    Glenn
